Celestial Body, Consumed

About the artist

By utilising braille as an ironic visual metaphor Celestial seeks to drawn attention to the disparity between what we see, and are shown, with how we feel & our lived experiences. By layering detail, poetry, and interwoven elements of schematics, both real and imagined, the nuance and depth of our life is reinforced though this body of work.

About the artwork

Mass upon the waylaid masses. Warnings lost beneath gluts altar. They manipulate the surrender of tomorrows need, to satiate todays greed. "No Angel will reach out to stay our hand. We must accept that the choice is ours. Do we lick the boot, or help lift it off another’s neck?" A number of AI generated images are collaged and reworked in to this piece, so as to add further conceptual weight. AI has unfortunately typified much of the worst of us; dehumanisation, overproduction, shallow consumption, and distortions of truth. In essence this is a metaphorical sculpture about greed and manipulation, rendered in fat, facts, and lies.
