Getting to Florence

Florence’s closest airport is Peretola (FLR) airport (Aeroporto di Firenze – Peretola in Italian). Santa Maria Novella is the city’s central train station. To get to the city center from the airport, take the T2 tram to the Santa Maria Novella train station. The ride takes about 20 minutes and costs less than 2 euros.

There’s also many Airbnbs and hotels well within 15-20 minutes walking distance from the city center.

Getting Around

Walking is the absolute best way to get around Florence during the festival. All of our events and most of the cultural attractions of the city are only 10 to 20 minutes apart by foot. And many parts of Florence’s center are restricted to pedestrians traffic only.

For folks who prefer not to walk, taxis are easily found throughout the city. Over 30 bus lines run throughout Florence. Passes can be bought for less than 2 euros at many shops and all bus stations around town.
