Leonardo Faganello, SUN BIRTH

About the artist
Leonardo Faganello constructs a visual poetics marked by the subversion of symbols and narratives, incorporating crosses, irreverence, illustrations from popular imagination and references to queer cinema. His practice, developed over the course of a decade, articulates color, line and materiality in the creation of compositions that tension the playful and the political, transforming each work into a fragment of a larger narrative.
About the artwork
Inspired by a season spent at the seaside in Brazil, the artist connects this experience to the genesis of a work that dialogues with the Renaissance, exploring themes such as birth, creation and divine power. The recurring presence of hands in his work reinforces the idea of artistic creation as an act of mediation between thought and materiality, where gesture becomes a vehicle for the realization of the idea.
